December 2009
Happy Holidays!! We will be closing early on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24th at 3:00 and will be closed on Friday Dec. 25th. Please inform us if your child’s schedule will be changing over the holidays. I will be out on vacation the week of Dec. 21st – Dec. 25th and Sara will be filling in for me if she is needed.
Happy Birthday this month to: Christopher. We would like to welcome Hunter, Stefanie and Simon to the Pre-school room.
Our Holiday party will be on Tuesday Dec. 15th. Please bring in a wrapped, non-gender present for our secret Santa, ($5.00), if you are unable to do this please let us know, we want to be sure that each child receives a gift.
Our unit this month will revolve around letters.
Winter is approaching; please make sure your child has the following items in his/her cubby: Snow pants, warm jacket, snow boots, hat and mittens. We try to go out everyday weather permitting and your child must have the proper clothing. Thank you. Cubbies and mailboxes need to be cleaned out each week and sheets and blankets must be taken home and washed each week also. Please check your child’s bottom cubby for extra clothing and make sure they have 2 or 3 changes of clothing including socks.
Thank you for taking the time to wash your hands as well as your child’s hands when entering the building, this has helped a lot with keeping the germs at bay, we have not had very many illnesses as of yet. Keep washing please.
Any questions, suggestions, comments or concerns, Please feel to speak to Becky, Brandy, Jane or Carol.

This month our Pre-k children will be traveling over to the Southern Vermont Art Center to hear a book reading by a local artist and to enjoy the art work.
Our Pre-School class will also be traveling to the Equinox Terrace to sing and share a snack with the residents.
We are excited to be collaborating with Bennington County Head Start. What this means is an extra person in our preschool rooms on Mondays focusing not only on educational issues but health issues as well. Preschool families that qualify for this service will benefit from home visits and family support. If you would like more information about home visits please stop by the office and speak with Carol or Jane.
